How You Can Access Microsoft Fabric and Power BI Without a Work or Student Mail
Hello, I’ve prepared a post explaining how you can access Microsoft Fabric and Power BI without a work or student email.
Accessing Power BI and Microsoft Fabric usually requires a corporate or student email address. However, there is a way to start this process using a personal email as well.
1. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐀𝐳𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭
• You can create a free trial account via the Azure portal using your personal email address.
• You’ll receive $200 in credit for the first 30 days, along with access to many Azure services.
• However, you cannot directly or automatically activate Power BI or Fabric with this account, because personal email addresses do not behave like corporate accounts.
2. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐈𝐃
• After signing in to the Azure portal, search for “Entra ID” in the search bar.
• From there, you can create a new user.
• The newly created user is automatically assigned an email address with the @(x)onmicrosoft.comdomain. This address behaves like a corporate account.
3. 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐔𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐈 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐜
• You can register for Power BI and Microsoft Fabric using the newly created onmicrosoft.com email address.
• This allows you to activate a 60-day free trial.
• During the trial period, you can build sample projects, explore the features of Fabric and Power BI, and complete end-to-end analytics scenarios as much as possible.
