Create semantic models in Direct Lake storage mode from one or more Fabric artifacts in Power BI Desktop
On the latest Fabric Friday livestream they talked about the announcement this week of creating semantic models using Direct Lake storage mode in Power BI Desktop whereas previously you could only edit a direct lake semantic model in desktop.
In addition you can combine tables from multiple direct lake data sources as well as combining import and direct lake mode in the same model.
Personally I think this is amazing especially the ability to combine tables from multiple sources. Whether you can combine multiple tables in the service or this ability is restricted to Power BI desktop only I don't know so I need to do some testing
