👋🏾 Hello, my little Gang of Nasties! I’m really glad you’re here. This space was made specifically for students and future lab professionals who are trying to study smarter, stay motivated, and finally pass the ASCP exam without losing their minds. Whether you’re still in school, prepping for boards, or coming back after a break—this is your space. 👇 Introduce yourself to our FREE Community: 1. What’s your name? 2. Where are you in your lab journey (Student? Graduated already?) 3. Which department is your biggest struggle? 4. Which department is your favorite? I’ll go first… My name is Marilyn, aka @marilynthescientist 👩🏾‍🔬 I’m a Clinical/Medical Laboratory Scientist with 10 years of experience in the field. 💉 I’ve worked everywhere—from tiny Critical Access Hospitals to busy Level 1 Trauma Centers. 🧳 6 of those years were spent traveling across the U.S. 🩸 Currently, I’m holding it down as a Blood Bank Supervisor in California. This space is here for us to learn, laugh, rant, and master the lab world together. No dumb questions, EVER! 📲 Follow me on socials if you want extra lab tips, rants, and ratchet breakdowns: Instagram | TikTok 🧬 If you ever have questions—even the “silly” ones—DM me or post them in the group. 😤💅🏾
The Ultimate Coagulation Cascade Breakdown
COAGULATION… But hopefully this FINALLY MAKES SENSE!!! Greetings Gang 🤪😈 This is pretty huge... I just dropped a FULL coagulation cascade breakdown PDF in here, and this one is for anyone who’s tired of coag feeling like random Roman numerals and snake venom, ristocetin nonsense. This PDF: - Breaks down intrinsic, extrinsic, and common pathways in plain mothertruckin English - Explains WHY tests are prolonged, not just which ones - Connects aPTT, PT/INR, TT, Reptilase, Ecarin, DRVVT, and mixing studies so they finally EACH make sense and/or stop blending together - Makes lupus anticoagulant and mixing studies actually logical and understandable - Focuses on ASCP exam logic, not “med school theory” This is a LOCK-IN document: the kind you read once, then suddenly coag questions stop feeling like a jump scare. How I would use it: - Read it straight through once - Then come back and highlight the exam rules + one-liners - Pair it with practice questions so you can see the patterns immediately If coag has been your weak spot, this is your “ohhhhh THAT’S why” moment. I hope this helps! xoxo, Marilyn PS: ‼️ Another quick announcement: Live Study session coming next week! I'll post a poll soon to see what day works for everyone! If you want live study session every single week (if not multiple per week), check out the Inner Circle of this community... I'm offering a FREE 7-day trial! Lots of resources and daily, individualized support is there! Also... any study sessions within the week you join are INCLUDED! So at least give it a try! https://www.skool.com/microscopeviews/about

Frustrated
I’ve been studying and just doing practice questions and I keep getting 50’s! If I do 25 questions with random difficulty I’ll get half correct, if I do 50 questions, half correct, if I do 100 questions, half correct! Clearly I understand half of what I learned in the last year. I’m starting to get nervous now 😩
Fail at first attempt.
“Guys, I took my exam yesterday and I didn’t pass. I believe Blood Bank was my weak point because there were a lot of Blood Bank questions. I only had one question on parasitology. I found the exam pretty straightforward, with simple questions, not much text, and very few images. What strategy did you use after failing the first time?” Thank youuuu
ASCP 1st Attempt Without Preparation.... Failed
Reason for Failure: Blood Bank Panel 😞 Obtained mark's:380
