Welcome to Mental Fitness
Welcome. Thank you for being here. You have just joined a growing community of people who take their minds seriously - and have a lot of fun doing it. Three things you should know. 1. What you have just gained access to. Mental Fitness sharpens the thinking skills that make everything else in your life work better - clearer decisions, faster problem-solving, more creative ideas, the confidence to think on your feet, and the ability to walk into any room and be the most interesting person in it. These are not promises. They are what happens when you put the reps in. 2. Your next step. Click on Classroom at the top of the page and select Start Here. That is where you will find everything you need to get the most out of this community - what each play does, how the challenges work, and your first challenge. 3. Your SHARP Playbook is waiting for you. Inside is the SHARP Playbook - 10 plays that each train a different dimension of your thinking. Lateral thinking. Verbal agility. Memory. Creative thinking. Mental arithmetic. Attention. Deduction. Perspective. Pattern recognition. Social intelligence. Plus a bonus method that ties them all together. No equipment needed. Just your mind. Start with Play 1. I will see you in there. - David

Before you go any further, introduce yourself
This community gets better every time a new mind walks in. So, before you dive into the Playbook, take a few seconds to introduce yourself. Drop a comment below and answer these three questions: 1. What do you do? Builder, founder, consultant, creator, executive — whatever it is. The more specific, the better. "I run a digital agency in Manchester" is more interesting than "I work in business." 2. What does being sharper mean for you specifically? Not in general terms. In your actual life. "I want to stop losing my train of thought in client pitches." "I want to be the most interesting person at a networking event." "I want to make faster decisions without second-guessing myself for three days." Whatever it is, say it. You will almost certainly find you are not the only one. 3. Which of the ten plays are you starting with — and why? There is no right answer. Some people go straight to Play 1. Some scan all ten and start with the one that frightens them most. Tell us your instinct.

Coming soon... here now!
With a background in R&D (research and development), I have been helping CEOs and staff with their technical thinking for over forty years. However, the truth is that in most cases, I have found it was not so much technical thinking as a therapeutic process, where I assist colleagues in thinking through what they are doing. This is because I don't have all the answers; what I have is the ability to break things down into smaller parts and then steer the conversation. I was researching my next book, having written on Executive Functioning, and I thought it would be fun to share some of my research here online. I would love to know what you think. The more you can tell me what you like, comment, etc., and the more feedback I can see, the more encouraged I will be to release more. I am very interested in what, if anything, this topic fires up for you, and in the questions you have.
