Presentation Description
Aromatherapy and formulation share a common foundation, yet each speaks its own language. In this presentation, Venessa shares her journey from clinical aromatherapist to soap and cosmetic formulator, and how the Blend3 Method became the catalyst for developing a systematic approach to translating aromatherapy principles into handcrafted products. Through stories and practical examples, she explores how blending evolves when essential oils move from the bottle into soaps, body butters, salves, and lotions while preserving the artistry and intention of aromatherapy.
Speaker Bio
Venessa is a certified clinical aromatherapist, educator, certified soap maker & teacher, and cosmetic formulator who specializes in bridging aromatherapy with handcrafted product formulation. After beginning her career in aromatherapy, she expanded into soap making and cosmetic formulation, where she developed practical methods for translating aromatherapy principles into reproducible, high-quality products.
Through teaching, writing, and speaking, she helps makers confidently apply essential oils in handcrafted products while honoring both the art of blending and the discipline of formulation. Venessa teaches throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey, is a contributing columnist for Making Soap, Cosmetics & Candles Magazine, hosts the DeGanya Aromatics YouTube channel, and is the author of the forthcoming book, Zero Waste Whipped Soap Making.
