Values
Values are the core of who we are and they are unique to what we believe. If you can choose 4 values that are the core of your being, what would they be? Over the years values can change or be added to your life. Mine are: courage, confidence, connection and supportive. COURAGE to step into the unknown CONFIDENCE to believe that I can achieve what what every I put my mind to. CONNECTION brings like minded people together to motivate, encourage and support each one. SUPPORTIVE I love to support and see other succeed in life.
Failure is growth
Failure is growth. Either it be in personal growth, financial, business or health, we need to embrace failures as lessons we learn from, see opportunities for growth and success. There is a saying I use that goes "Embrace fear and let failures be lessons". I have this interview/podcast project I wanted to do focusing on Goals, Mindset and mental health. I'm scared and afraid of what others would think but I realised if this fails then so be it. Use the failings as a learning tool on what I need to improve on and seek training or getting better at it. I had to stop thinking about failing at this or wait for the perfect time. As far as I could remember I was afraid at failure as I didn't know it was part of the progress to success. Here is a link to my first ever interview for one of Australia's powerlifter that squats 380kg as number 1 in Australia and tired 2nd in the works for his body weight class. This clip is about failing. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DThONJpEVnN/?igsh=djFlNDJ1YjhnZnY4 So embrace your fears and chase after that goal you want, see failures as lessons!!!
Non-negotiables
What will your non-negotiables be for 2026 to help you achieve your goals for the rest of the year. Mine are: - 4 days training a week - Read 10 pages a day - Learn a skill base
Be Grateful for the small things in life
One thing we all need to do is being grateful for what we have. As simple as it seems, sometimes it's hard for some people. Think of it like gold fossicking. You have to sift throught the dirt, pebbles and debris. Then add water to swirl around until you to see that flek of gold. Today find the opportunity to be grateful for something small as those small things adds up to something massive. Those small things are the gems to inner growth.
Personal Growth Chapter
Hi Legends, I'm working with Matthew on provide personal growth information on how we can learn, grow and succeed in our personal lives but also to the community that we all live in. Quick intro about me. I work a full time job but I also volunteer as a mentor for a not for profit organisation where I facilitate a emerging leaders/wellbeing program into a local high school in the Brisbane area. I've also had the opportunity to mentor ex offenders coming out of jail who were affiliated with motorcycle gangs. I'm a father of 2 young adult daughters, love fitness and have found my passion in powerlifting. I'm truly grateful and looking forward for being part of this journey with you all as we become better versions of ourselves by doing that 1% better each day, week, month, year etc. Over the coming weeks, I'll post some inspirational and encouraging information that may challenge and inspire us. This is a quote I tell the ex offenders on my first meet and greet. "The past is in your head, the future is in your hands" I'll go more into quote and the meaning of this over the coming weeks. Shawn.
