We are used to seeing the results: the huge platforms and the lives that seem to have always been without a mistake—all of this in the realm of the spirit and spiritual growth. However, no one really talks about the setbacks, the relapses, and the falls people experienced before reaching those platforms. We tend to focus on how many people can "see our glory," instead of focusing on the plan and the work that God is CURRENTLY doing in our lives. We are going to mess up. Platforms, if given to a person who cannot carry them, become a trap. This is why God builds us firsts and then presents us to the world (usually) Remember: God built David in the dark—on the nights where a sheep may have escaped, during daily tasks that seemed "boring," and in moments where only he and God were present. In the fights with bears and wild animals, David could rely on nothing else but calling out to God for help. God built David in the hidden spaces. He built his character in the daily routine and taught him to trust in Him during hard moments that no one else witnessed. God built David in the silence, and in that silence, David learned to trust God, hear Him, and call upon Him. For us, it may be an addiction, pride, or an old habit we are learning to let go of. God already has His plan set. Before we were even born, He foresaw our faith and conversion and set a path for us to walk in. The platform is the least of our concerns (David was anointed as king by Samuel in a single day). Our main focus should be: "Are we walking in God’s plan?" Not that we are doing everything perfectly, but that when we fall, we repent; and when we have the opportunity to obey God, we do so. When that prayer time at night after a long day comes, we ought to say: "Lord, give me strength, help me to pray," rather than thinking, "The Lord won't mind if I leave Him off the altar for a day." This last mindset can be tricky, but be aware—those of you who seek to put the Lord to the test—for you can pray in your mind, in your bed, in the kitchen, or even while you brush your teeth and go about your daily routine.
