Transitioning from One Location to Two Locations

I have a few clients that are making the jump from 1 location to 2 locations and some have plans to open more, so they'll end up with 3-5 locations. Since everything to date one the site has been with the singular location in mind - is there a method for transitioning to 2+ locations? Following the structure for a multi-location setup, there would many changes to make....links, silos, even the GBP URLs, etc. Thoughts or experiences in navigating the transition?
