WHAT CODE ARE YOU RUNNING?
There is probably a sentence you have repeated about yourself so many times that you no longer hear it as a sentence. You hear it as truth. “I always quit.” “I’m terrible with money.” “I’m not confident.” “I overthink everything.” “I’m just not that kind of person.” “That’s who I am.” Those are the kinds of statements we examine here. For this thread, post one identity statement you catch yourself repeating. Then underneath it, rewrite it as a direction instead of a verdict. Example: Old code: “I always avoid conflict.” New code: “I am becoming someone who handles difficult conversations directly and respectfully.” Your turn. What code are you running—and what are you replacing it with?

Vacay Starts Now! I'll be in and out but out until next week.
Planning to take a few days off. The weekend and Monday through Thursday next week. My daughter is coming, and I want to spend time with her. Been 8 months since I took any real time off, so this is needed, and I am excited. Some thoughts before I close this week: -You are more beautiful, powerful, and needed now, more than you know. - We have access to our past, present, and future identity. It’s up to us. - Nobody is stopping our growth but us. You shine bright like a brilliant diamond. -You and I are needed NOW. Someday doesn’t happen. Today is our day. -The version of you that is waiting for you to accept it is 1000% more awesome than anything you can imagine. Don’t limit your future. -I love you all. Your future matters to me. I want you to always be the BEST version of you. If you didn’t have a cheerleader before, you do now. My daughter is the most precious person on the planet to me, so I get to enjoy her for a few days. But I felt a desire to share with you all that you are awesome, too. -Peace and love, Bo.
This made me laugh- I asked ChatGPT for an 'unhinged' Bio for me.
Bo McCoy studies a subject most people assume they already understand: themselves. This has proven to be a terrible decision for his free time. A management scholar, author, identity theorist, and creator of Identity Sensory Projection™ (ISP), Bo has spent the last several years pulling on one seemingly innocent thread: Who are you? Unfortunately, the thread did not stop. It led through identity, consciousness, autobiographical memory, embodiment, future-self simulation, sensory projection, manifestation, neuroscience, human agency, temporal identity, collective consciousness, and eventually to the mildly inconvenient question: What exactly is this thing inside a human being that keeps saying “I”? He is now developing the Theory of “I”, an emerging body of theoretical work exploring how human identity may be constructed across the remembered past, the embodied present, and the anticipated future. Along the way, he developed Identity Sensory Projection™, a method for deliberately experiencing possible Future Selves through multisensory simulation and using those encounters to inform present-day choices. In normal-person language: Bo teaches people to meet someone who doesn’t exist yet—themselves—and then asks why that imaginary person may already be influencing the person sitting here today. This is approximately where ordinary networking conversations begin to deteriorate. His work spans Begin Purpose™, Manifested Identity, Body Mass Identity™, ISP, the Theory of “I,” temporal identity synchrony, identity sourcing, and the architecture of human selfhood. He writes books because apparently explaining any of this in a Facebook post was unrealistic. He builds frameworks because one framework inevitably raises three additional questions. And he continues researching identity because somewhere between neuroscience, psychology, philosophy, spirituality, consciousness, and human experience lies a question he has become increasingly unwilling to leave alone: What if the person you believe yourself to be is only the version of “I” you currently have access to?
