Just watched 5 videos of Upwork 101. Haroon bhai walked through all the essentials of Upwork.
Upwork is really good for Starting freelancing. Benefits are safe payments, global clients, and consistent projects.
Job search: filters are super important to find the right jobs.
Quality leads matter more than quantity.
Messages: saw how the message section works, chat options, how to make groups, transfer contracts to another profile (agency), accept offers, and keep communication short and to the point. Don’t waste time on greetings, just ask client to send files and start work.
Profile overview: learned about showreel, project catalogue, portfolio, certifications, other experiences, creating Zoom meeting links.
Detailed overview of profile stats – impressions, profile views, invites. Learned 1-click 1 connect boost recommended by Haroon bhai.
Less views with quality leads are better than many views with low-ticket jobs.
Before starting a contract: don’t contact client outside Upwork, don’t share links (Google Drive or Docs links are okay), no discrimination on religion or race — just say “I’m not a good fit.”
Job Success Score (JSS): one client with $1k has the same impact as 10 clients with $100 contracts.
Don’t accept contracts immediately. Take time to review, sometimes clients pressure you.
Last video by Agha Saad was about policy violations: never use “free,” don’t take payment outside Upwork, don’t share links, know how to talk to Upwork support if account is suspended. Profile picture shouldn’t have suspicious background. “Available now” should be used properly.
