✔️Elements to notice:

Short term
  • Text kerning
  • Line height
  • Font weight
  • Shadow
  • Alignment
  • Long consistency
  • Size
  • Outline
  • Hierarchy
  • Title banana
  • Colors
  • Text block banana
  • Contrast
➡️ Typeface versus Font
Typeface is a family name.
Font is a specific “Family Member” (the specific size or weight).
Example: Arial is the typeface. Arial Bold size 14 is a font.
➡️ Serif vs Sans Serif
  • Serifs have feet.
  • Sans Serifs are “footless” and smooth.
  • Serif font adds a sense.
  • Arial / Sans Serif looks modern.
  • A Serif font is used to write formal business proposal.
➡️ Kerning Vs. Tracking
  • Kerning is fixing gap between two specific letters.
  • K ↔ e ↔ r
  • Tracking is stretching or squeezing an entire word/paragraph.
➡️ Leading (Line Height)
The “breathing room” between lines of text.
Example: Double-spaced essays in school have high leading, a dense newspaper has low leading.
➡️ Hierarchy
Making the most important stuff the biggest or boldest so people know what to read first.
Example: Newspaper headline.
➡️ Ascenders & Descenders
  • Ascenders are the parts that “climb up” like the stick on a ‘b’ or ‘d’.
  • Descenders are the part that “hang down.”
Jin ki tail neechay ko ho like ‘p’ or ‘g’.
Example: In the word “dog”, the ‘d’ has an ascender and the ‘g’ has a descender.
➡️ Font Size and Line Height
It is usually measured in pixels (px) or points (pt).
Example: A font size of 16px with a line height of 24px creates a comfortable “breathing room” between sentences.
Scenario: You are reading a long blog post. If the font is too small, your eyes strain; if the lines are too close together, you accidentally skip lines while reading.
➡️ 2. Alignment
Alignment is how the edges of your text line up on the page.
  • LEFT: The most common and easiest to read.
  • RIGHT: Used for small decorative notes.
  • Center: Great for invitations or short quotes.
Scenario:
You are designing a wedding invitation. You choose center alignment.
➡️ Line Length and Readability
  • Line length: The width of a block of text.
  • Readability: How easy it is for the brain to process the words and sentences.
Example: A standard comfortable line length is about 45 to 75 characters.
