Need urgent help: Company not paying for 20 days of work despite signed contract
Hi everyone,
I need some guidance on a serious issue. I worked with a Czech company called Dapnia Group s.r.o. under a signed service contract. They made me work for about 20 days and then suddenly blocked all company accounts connected to me email, ChatGPT Plus access and internal tools.
According to the contract, they were supposed to give a 14-day notice before ending the agreement, but they didn’t. When I asked, they told me they couldn't continue with me and said they would pay me for the 20 days I worked. Our last proper communication was on 11 November.
They asked me to send my invoice and I did. They said they forwarded it to their finance department. After that, no response and no payment. I emailed them multiple times, even warned them about legal action, but still no reply.
The amount they owe me is $666, which is not small for me. I can't afford a lawyer in Europe and I don’t know if there's any way to take legal action for free in the Czech Republic. Is there any option where a lawyer takes their fee from the company and I don’t have to pay anything upfront?
Has anyone dealt with something like this? Any guidance would really help.
Thank you.
