Small win, but it means a lot I just crossed my first $1,000 on Upwork. 🎉
I know $1k isn't a huge number to some, but for me it's proof that slow, boring consistency actually works. It wasn't a straight line. At one point my Job Success Score dropped to 69% and I genuinely thought about quitting. I just kept showing up delivering clean work, communicating clearly, and treating every small project like it mattered. The score is back to 100% now, and most of my recent clients have either come back for more work or reached out to me directly. 3 things that actually moved the needle: 1. Over-communicate. Clients don't just buy code they buy a calm, clear process. 2. Treat the $100 job like a $1,000 one. The reviews from small jobs are what win you the big ones. 3. Don't let a bad week define you. Setbacks are recoverable if you keep delivering. Grateful for this community a lot of the mindset shifts came from lurking and learning here. Onward to the next milestone. 🚀 For those ahead of me: what was the one change that took you from your first $1k to your first $10k? @Haroon Khalil @Umair Bajwa https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/~01ac9dfd5b35dc7b35

A small milestone I had to share
I wanted to share something with this community. I only started freelancing last year, and the beginning wasn't easy. I had no real experience with freelancing, so my early projects didn't go well. One of them even ended in a dispute, and I lost somewhere around $100 to $150. At that point it really felt like my profile might be finished. Then I met Haroon Bhai, at the gym. I told him about my situation, and he explained exactly what steps I needed to take next to save my profile. I did precisely what he advised. And by the grace of God, my profile survived. That was the turning point that brought me to where I am today. Today, I'm proud to say I've reached a 100% Job Success Score on Upwork. What means even more to me is how it happened recently. A client reached out to me directly in my inbox for a small $50 task. Because of the quality of the work, that first contract closed at $200, and we're now wrapping up a second, larger contract, with more projects already planned. In her own words, she said the experience was "smooth and stress-free," and that she's continuing to work with me because I had "earned her trust for ongoing collaboration." Reading that reminded me why honest, careful work matters so much. Haroon Bhai, thank you, sincerely. Without your support and the right guidance at that moment, I wouldn't be here today. And to anyone just starting out: don't give up. Do good work, communicate honestly, and stay patient. It all adds up over time. @Haroon Khalil https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/~01ac9dfd5b35dc7b35

From $0 to $93.67 in 2 Months But Now I’m Stuck. Need Motivation 💪
Hey everyone, I wanted to share a quick update and honestly ask for some motivation. In the last 2 months, I’ve earned $93.67 on Upwork. It’s not a huge number, but for me it meant a lot because it proved I can get clients and deliver work. Here are my last 90 days stats: - 129 profile views - 12 invites received - 3 hires from invites - Total: 3 hires in 90 days The numbers show potential. But the issue is… I’ve been inactive for some days now No proposals. No follow-ups. Just overthinking. I know consistency is everything in freelancing. I know I should double down right now instead of slowing down. But mentally, I feel stuck. So I’m posting here for accountability and motivation: - How do you stay consistent when momentum drops? - What do you do when you start overthinking instead of executing? - Any mindset shifts that helped you push through slow phases? My goal is simple: Get back to daily proposals Cross $500 milestone Build long-term client relationships Would appreciate any advice, tough love, or strategies that helped you level up. https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/~01ac9dfd5b35dc7b35?mp_source=share

@Soha Ali Thank you so much for this. I really needed to hear it 🙏 You’re absolutely right we can’t stay fully motivated and focused 365 days a year. I think I was being too hard on myself instead of accepting that low-energy phases are normal. I’ll take this time to reset, understand why I feel stuck, and reconnect with my “why” and long-term goals. My goal is still clear, I just need to get back into consistent action step by step. Also, I’ll definitely check out the Mental Mastery course. Thanks again for the guidance and encouragement it means a lot.

@Soha Ali My routine is actually quite stable. I usually wake up around 6–7 AM, then go to the office. I return home at about 4:30 PM, have my meal, take a short rest or power nap, and then do some work in the evening before ending the day.
From 56% to 100% JSS in Just 10 Days
By mid-December, my JSS was at 56%. In just 10 days, after completing 2 jobs, I was able to bring it back to 100%. This is a huge achievement for me and a big confidence boost. Special thanks to Haroon Bhai and his community, Media Valley School, where people genuinely guide and support each other. I learned a lot there about freelancing, managing my Upwork profile, and doing things the right way. Truly grateful for the support and motivated to keep improving. https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/~01ac9dfd5b35dc7b35 @Haroon Khalil

Quick Fix, Happy Client
Alhamdulillah, I received another job invitation today. The issue was small, but very important for the client, and they were quite stressed about it. I fixed the issue in almost 10 minutes and informed the client, and they approved it right away. It reminded me that even small tasks can create big value when you solve them quickly and correctly. Feeling grateful and learning every day. @Haroon Khalil
