I honestly thought this client was going to leave me a bad review…
Here’s what happened 👇
A while ago, I worked with a client on a project—and he loved it. Everything went perfectly.
So naturally, he came back to me with another project.
But this time… things didn’t go as planned.
I had some knowledge of the work, but not full expertise. Instead of saying no, I outsourced it and managed everything.
At first, it looked okay.
Then came the feedback…
A lot of issues.
Bugs.
Errors.
Things are not working properly.
The client said:
“There’s a lot of errors and bugs on the website… I had to review everything myself and spend countless hours. I’d appreciate if you just fix the website to function as a normal one.”
That hit hard.
At that moment, I was thinking:
👉 “This is it… bad review coming.”
👉 “I messed this up.”
I felt stressed… and honestly disappointed in myself.
But instead of avoiding the situation or making excuses…
I decided to do ONE thing:
Take full responsibility and fix everything.
I worked on the issues, improved the site, and finally—
The client approved the milestone.
I thought, okay… at least it's done.
But then…
After approving the milestone, he needed some more help.
And this is where things could’ve gone either way.
I chose to show up.
No complaints.
No delays.
Just support.
I helped him again—fixed more issues, improved things further, and made sure everything was running smoothly.
Then I got this message:
“Thank you again for your work, especially the help after the project is completed—exceeded my expectations! I’ll reach out later with more paid work if I need extra help.”
And then…
⭐ 5-star review.
Here’s what I learned:
Clients don’t expect perfection.
They expect:
✔ Ownership when things go wrong
✔ Effort to make things right
✔ Support when they need it most
That’s what builds trust.
That’s what brings repeat work.
And that’s what turns a bad situation into a win.
If you’re dealing with a difficult project right now…
Don’t panic.
Just show up and help.
It matters more than you think.
