🚫 What I Don’t Want to Do Today
I don’t want to waste any time. My midterms are ongoing, and I need to stay focused.
🌅 Day Start
I went to bed early at night. It is my daily habit to set three alarms before sleeping to wake up in the morning. Every day, I wake up and turn off the first two alarms. On the third alarm, I get up and sit.
I am trying to get up on the first alarm instead of the last one. As usual, I woke up to the first two alarms, dismissed them, and went back to sleep.
Then I woke up on the third alarm, quickly performed wudu, and went to the mosque.I wanted to pray the Fajr prayer with the congregation.
Alhamdulillah, I reached on time at 6:25 AM. I prayed the Sunnahs and then offered the Fard prayer with the congregation.
After Fajr, I returned to my room at 6:45 AM.On my mobile, I recited verses 60 to 77 of Surah Al-Furqan on the Islam360 app.
I also read the Urdu translation of these verses. Then I turned on the mobile Wi-Fi and checked WhatsApp.
I saw a message from my sister saying that Khalu had passed away.Reading this message made me very sad.
I called home to get more details. At the start of the day, I received this very heartbreaking news.
My Khalu was a very good person.Because I was in Karachi, I could not reach my hometown in time to attend the funeral.
Therefore, I did not go to Punjab. Then, at 7:30 AM, I went to take a shower to get ready for duty.
At 8:15 AM, I got ready and went to the mess to have breakfast. By 8:45 AM, after breakfast, I waited for the duty bus.
The bus arrived at 9:00 AM. By 9:30 AM, I reached my duty place.
As usual, attendance was taken at 9:30 AM.There were two lectures until 12:30 PM.
After that, there was a two-hour break.During the break, I rested a little and then offered the Jumu’ah prayer.
I did not feel like having lunch, so I skipped it.Then, at 2:30 PM, the last lecture started and ended at 3:30 PM.
After the lecture, I returned to the hostel by the duty bus.I reached the hostel at 4:00 PM, changed my clothes, and took off my shoes.
I spent a little time reading community posts on my mobile. Then, at 4:20 PM, I went to the mosque to perform wudu and pray Asr.
At 4:50 PM, I returned to my room, read messages on WhatsApp, and replied to them. Then I called home, inquired about a letter I was expecting, and asked about Khalu’s funeral.
At 5:40 PM, I performed wudu and went to the mosque.I prayed Maghrib and returned to my room at 6:10 PM.
Then, I started watching CS401 lectures and completed two lectures by 7:20 PM.After that, I performed wudu and went to the mosque to pray Isha.
At 8:00 PM, after praying, I went to the mess, took my dinner, and returned to my room.I finished dinner by 8:30 PM.
From 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM, I completed two lectures of MTH202 Discrete Mathematics.
After that, I opened the community, wrote and posted my daily journal, and watched some Islamic videos on YouTube. I went to sleep by 11:00 PM.

✨ Reflection
Today was a very sad day.As long as I stayed in the crowd with my colleagues, I could forget for a while.
But whenever I was alone, even for a short time, the news of my Khalu’s death came back to my mind and I became sad again.
I kept worrying about my cousin Mohsin.I wished that I could be with him to comfort him.
My Khalu was a very good and righteous person. He worked very hard throughout his life for his family.
May Allah forgive my Khalu.May He grant him a place in Jannat-ul-Firdous. Ameen.
