Sewing Chat Wed. 6/24
I share my current project progress - now 5 denim/chambray blue shirts cut up and Re-created into a NEW shirt using Daphne Shirt from LaFred. My plan is to embellish with Red-White-Blue Patriotic colors in geometric embroidery up the seams, and sashiko on the collar. Learned it helps to say decisions to be made out loud - helps make them: YEAH! The Sashiko Kit templates I show can be found at Amazon at this link: https://amzn.to/4vqt4Dh and the book I'm using to learn from is: https://amzn.to/4f16Sd9 - those are both Affiliate Links - so when you use them, Thanks - as eventually they say I'll get a little 'pay' from ya'll purchasing with my links. Tune in - and comment when you do pretty please.

July 23 Class Announcement - Ask Londa ANYTHING Sewing-related
Hi Everyone, I have decided to do something a little different this month, and it is FREE for ALL members, not just Premium Members this month! On Thursday, July 23 at 7 pm time Central Standard Time, I am hosting a special open "Ask Me Anything" Q&A. Think of it as a free-for-all where you simply bring your questions and pick my brain. We will go about 1.5 hours, live. After 54 years at the machine, there is not much I have not run into, and I would love to help you work through whatever has you stuck. Bring me anything; I've had my own fabric store/machine dealership for 13 years, done custom dressmaking/alterations for most of those 54 years, traveled the nation to guilds and Expos, YouTube Channel, PBS TV and more.... and I want to SHARE! For example::: - Why am I getting that nest of thread on the underside of my stitching? - Which way does the bobbin actually go in? - Why do I need interfacing, and where? - How do I decide which pattern size to use? - Should I replace this zipper, and what is the difference between the zipper types? - When is sewing for friends just a favor, and when does it become a business? - How do I say "no," even when it is a paying job? - Where do I shop now that JoAnn Fabrics has closed? - ...and MUCH MORE. No question is too basic, and none is too fussy. If it is keeping you from finishing a project, bring it. Honestly, part of why I am opening this one to everyone is so you can see what I am like, how I answer your questions, and get a feel for the way I teach and the knowledge I have to share. Give me a try. If you enjoy it and want more, you can sign up for a single month of Premium at just $9. No big commitment, just one month to see if it is for you. And mark your calendars: in August we move on to Creative Sweatshirt Jackets, and how to make them FIT in the first place - before all the creative fun! I've made well over 100 sweatshirt jackets, written 2 books, a DVD, and 9 patterns, so I've 'been there', believe me! This July 23 7 pm CST Class is open to every member, free and Premium alike, so do not miss it. Come with a question, or just come to listen and learn from everyone else's. See y'all on the 23rd.
