5/18/26 Mon. Am Sewing Chat - Londa's Future Project Sharing
As I shared, I have planned cutting up a pile of denim shirts (VERY well-worn) into strips/rectangles and doing some hand embroidery on the seams and p erhaps some sashiko on the yoke areas - just not sure yet. I generally let my 'creative spirit' guide me once I get to it. How about you?? At any rate, if you listen to the recording, you'll hear that I can't seem to stay awake during evening relaxation in my EZ chair unless my hands are BZ, so wanting to get OFF the computer... I am planning on creating some handwork projects... Some links from this mornings' Mon. AM Sewing Chat: two little pocket guide embroidery stitching books: https://amzn.to/4uZhRZW and https://amzn.to/3RfEmLv Alabama Chanin's BIG book: The GEOMETRY of Hand Sewing: https://amzn.to/3RiBzRJ I had that wonderful manual - but can I find it right now?? Mon. 5/11 Sewing Chat - What Londa is Gonna Be Creating
Friends — something from my heart today.
I've finally made peace with something every artist eventually learns - I sew because I simply must. Like a painter who creates whether or not a buyer is waiting, I design and stitch because it's who I am. But the pipe dream of the perfect stranger finding the perfect piece in the perfect size in the big online world? I'm letting that go. So I'm sending my one-of-a-kind handcrafted garments out into the world at just $25 each - valued at $75-$225 - with every dollar going to Tunnel to Towers and St. Jude. Mainland USA shipping $21.95. Come take a peek - and please share with friends who love unique clothing: www.londas-sewing.com/londaoriginals And here's something to pass along to a non-sewing friend: does she have garments, linens or treasured pieces belonging to someone dear who has passed on? I can transform them into something she'll actually wear. Share this with her: www.londas-sewing.com/commissions Going forward my heart stays right here - teaching and growing together in our craft. Don't forget May 28 Premium class: The Common T-shirt : Endless Possibilities! See you Monday morningn at 10 am for a quick Sewing Chat! ✂️🇺🇸 Londa
