Silkworm pupae vs yellow jacket carcasses
I will write up the experiment in a later post, but this is a repeat of an experiment I ran a few years ago and got the same findings. As a nutrient add in, yellow jacket carcasses put out a much higher yield than silkworm pupae.

New No Soak No simmer Grain test coming soon
On top of the grain information already in the classrooms, I'm thinking of doing another experiment to see how it plays out. My last grain bag run is going like gangbusters. Everything is colonizing beautifully. Much better than I am ready for to be honest 🤣 Half of them are gourmet and I do not have any gourmet bags ready. Whomp Whomp I'm thinking that since it worked so well in the bags, let's see if the same recipe and technique will work just as well in jars. Loads of people prefer jars over bags from an environment standpoint a lot of the time. I was one of those people as well until Perimenopause declared mutiny on my hands. Bags or Jars What's your preference?

Cordyceps in a jar
Class is almost ready Anyone excited for the cordyceps in a jar class. We have it almost done over at LoM. We are just waiting to get some glamour shots of full-grown fruit and harvesting info before we copy it over here. Squiggledo's fruit are way ahead of mine

Wine cap vs Agrocybe praecox
New experiment. Found Agrocybe praecox fruiting in my raised bed. I don't hold any level of fondness for this species as though it is technically edible, it's far from appealing and taking up prime real estate in my raised bed. Stropharia rugosoannulata, wine caps, have previously acted as a very effective secondary decomposer in my yard, eating other mushroom patches and victory fruiting in the middle of them. I placed some wine cap spawn around where the Agrocybe fruited. Now we wait.
