IS BALL REALLY LIFE? 🏀
Everybody says they love basketball. Everybody says, “Ball is life.” But let me ask you something…
IS IT REALLY?
If your parents have to beg you to get out of bed on a Saturday and go to the gym, do you really want it as bad as you say you do?
If you’re waiting for someone else to motivate you, remind you to work out, or push you to get better, something has to change.
Are you waking your parents up asking them to take you to the gym? Are you getting shots up before school? Are you finding a way to work when nobody is watching? Are you willing to walk to the park, shoot in the cold, or get those extra reps in when everyone else is at home relaxing?
Because EVERYBODY wants to play in front of a packed crowd. Everybody wants the scholarship, the recognition, and the opportunity to play at the next level.
But not everybody wants to put in the work it takes to get there.
You can’t say basketball is your passion if someone else has to want it more than you do.
Your parents can support you. Your coaches can push you. Your trainers can teach you. But NONE of them can want it for you.
At some point, YOU have to decide how bad you want it.
And understand this: You don’t have to sacrifice every single second of your life to basketball. You need balance, rest, and time for the people who matter. But when it’s time to work, you should be the one holding yourself accountable.
Stop waiting for motivation. Stop making excuses. Stop comparing yourself to players who are putting in more work than you.
If you want to be different, you have to be willing to do things differently.
Don’t just SAY ball is life. SHOW IT.
Now ask yourself: Are you really doing everything you can to reach your goals, or do you just love the idea of making it?
Get in the gym. Put in the work. Make it happen. 🏀
