No matter how good of a workout you have today, you’re not going to wake up tomorrow and be LeBron James.
You’re not going to go from a bench player on your high school team to an NBA-level talent in a few weeks. That’s NOT how it works.
But you know what you CAN do?
Get 1% better every single day.
Too many players want results without realizing how long the process takes. You want the starting spot. You want more minutes. You want to be the best player on your team. You want college coaches watching you.
But are you willing to put in the work when those things aren’t happening yet?
You don’t build a great player in one workout. You build one through hundreds of workouts, thousands of repetitions, countless mistakes, and the discipline to keep showing up when you don’t see immediate results.
Every time you fix a weakness, improve your footwork, make 10 more shots, get stronger, or learn from a mistake, you’re laying another brick.
One brick might not look like much. But keep stacking them, and eventually, you’ll build a castle.
And here’s the thing: most players won’t stay consistent long enough to see what they’re capable of. They’ll get discouraged when they don’t improve fast enough. They’ll skip workouts. They’ll make excuses. They’ll quit when the results don’t come.
Don’t be that player.
You don’t have to be the best player in your conference today. You don’t have to be the most talented player in your class. You just have to be willing to work on becoming a better version of yourself than you were yesterday.
Your competition might be ahead of you right now. Good. Let that motivate you. You can’t control how talented someone else is, but you CAN control your effort, your discipline, and how you use your time.
You might not see the results tomorrow. But if you keep stacking those 1% improvements, one day you’ll look back and realize just how far you’ve come.
Stop chasing overnight success. Start chasing daily improvement.
Get 1% better TODAY. Then wake up tomorrow and do it again.
The goal isn’t to be great overnight. The goal is to become great over time.
