I remembered I learned somewhere y is long e, but when i listen to it carefully, i heard short i. What do you think?
BTW, the other day I watched the lastest movie "The Devil Wears Prada"，It's hard to listen to even with chinese subtitle, but I heard one newly learned words "rodeo". And then I felt much better.
