Don't judge people only by one action. Try to understand what might be happening behind their behavior.
💬 Expressions & Meanings:
- beyond -- more than (“look beyond behavior” = don't judge only by what you see someone doing)
- exposed to -- experienced (“you have been exposed to the wisdom...” = you have learned this idea)
- to extend -- give to more people (“extend kindness” = show kindness to more people)
- offbeat behavior -- unusual or strange behavior
- walking around with your head in the sand -- ignoring problems (like an ostrich hiding its head)
- walk all over you -- treat you badly because you don't stand up for yourself
- the benefit of the doubt -- choosing to believe someone has good intentions when you're not sure
- snaps at -- speaks angrily or impatiently to someone
- beneath this isolated act -- behind this one action (“isolated act” = one action, not the whole person)
