Every time I practice this assignment, I can't get rid of this thought:
Isn't that a form of manipulation? Isn't it shifting the responsibility for our well-being onto someone else -- someone from whom we expect, almost demand, unconditional proof that we matter? And when they don't give it, we start destroying ourselves, hoping they'll feel guilty?
You need to matter to yourself first. Find your own Why -- Why you matter to you. And once you do, others will follow.
