I heard about the Friends Protocol but didn’t really understand what it meant. After watching Coach video, now I finally get it. The idea is simple:
You watch Friends (or any TV series you love) at a fixed time every week — for example, every Thursday at 07.30 pm. No subtitles. No captions. Just one episode at a time.
You don’t pause. You don’t translate. You just watch.
At first, you won’t understand everything — and that’s okay. The magic happens with CONSISTENCY. Little by little, your brain starts recognizing patterns, expressions, and pronunciation naturally.
It’s not about studying. It's about training your listening skills. Also this is WHY Coach Shane only recommends FRIENDS for the Friends Protocol. It’s not random at all. The content in Friends is something every human experiences — relationships, dating, breakups, family, jobs, hopes, dreams, fears, and everyday problems. It’s a truly universal show. The conversations are also very similar across episodes, which means the same types of situations, emotions, and vocabulary keep repeating. That repetition is powerful because your brain starts recognizing common phrases, natural reactions, and real conversational rhythm without you forcing it. Other shows can work too, but Friends is almost perfect because it focuses on everyday life that everyone can relate to.
Thank you for sharing this method Coach I’m thinking of starting this week.
