If someone made you uncomfortable, would you speak up right away?
Whether I would speak up right away depends on the situation. If my friends made me uncomfortable, I’d probably tell them directly, like saying, “No, please don’t say that again,” because I know they care about my feelings and would understand me. However, if it was my supervisor who made me uncomfortable, I’d probably stay silent or make my point in a roundabout way. From my experience, telling my supervisor directly that she had upset me probably wouldn’t end well. She might hold a grudge, and I’d have to deal with the fallout for weeks.
