Explanation

Kidnapping is when a person is taken or held against their will, usually by force or threat. It's a violent crime.

But then comes the twist:

“Kid napping” can also mean a kid taking a nap (kid = child, nap = short sleep).

When the answer says “It’s okay, he woke up,” you realize there was no crime at all ... just a child who fell asleep at school.

That surprise + wordplay is what makes it funny. Classic dad joke
