As-Salaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh 🤍
A reminder for myself and my brothers and sisters in Islam:
Not everyone who speaks about Islam is grounded in authentic knowledge. Some may speak based on opinion, culture, or misunderstanding, so it is important to be careful about who we take our دين from.
Allah tells us:
“O you who believe, if a wicked person comes to you with news, verify it…”
📖 Surah Al-Hujurat 49:6
And Allah also says:
“Ask the people of knowledge if you do not know.”
📖 Surah An-Nahl 16:43
The Prophet ﷺ also warned about misleading knowledge being spread:
“Indeed, Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it away from the people, but He takes away knowledge by taking away the scholars…”
📖 Sahih al-Bukhari 100
🌿 Lesson:
So we should be careful:
- Not every speaker is a scholar
- Not every Islamic page is reliable
- Not every opinion represents Islam correctly
We should always return to:
- The Qur’an
- Authentic Sunnah
- And scholars known for sound knowledge and trustworthiness
May Allah keep us firm upon the truth, increase us in beneficial knowledge, and protect us from misguidance. Ameen 🤲
