Guarding the Tongue
Bismillah
The tongue is small but powerful. One word can heal and one word can harm.
The Prophet ﷺ said
“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or remain silent” Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim
We often speak without thinking. This leads to backbiting, hurtful jokes, arguments, and regret.
Good speech is charity. Silence can be strength. Controlling the tongue is part of strong iman.
Reflect
When was the last time you said something you regret
Why is staying silent sometimes harder than speaking
Action
Before speaking ask
Is it true
Is it beneficial
Is it necessary
