Which House Are You Building?
Think about the two houses I talked about in this week’s blog—𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝗴𝗲, 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝘆 𝗼𝗻𝗲 that takes up all the space, and 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿, 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻𝗲 that invites people to pause and belong.
This week, I challenge you to 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂.

• If your leadership were a house, what kind of house would it be? 𝘓𝘰𝘶𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨?
• How do the people you lead feel when they show up to your “house”?
• What small actions could you take this week to create more space for others to show up fully?
• What would it look like to set a table outside your “house”—to create an open invitation instead of a closed door?
𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽: Try one simple thing this week that invites others in more fully. Maybe it’s a kind word, an open question, or slowing down to really listen. Notice how it shifts your space and their experience.
Share your reflections and experiences here in the community—let’s support each other in building leadership spaces that feel like home.
Remember: We are not alone in this journey!
