When Skool payments first came out I was pumped and disappointed at the same time.
.
I loved the idea of being able to run payments through skool and see MRR on the dashboard but I hated the fact that I could only charge up to $999/m. ( but found a work around which I'll share in this post)
.
For some context my PRE-SKOOL 1:1 Coaching Offer was $10k or $750/Week for 16 Weeks which doesn't work with the skool payment limitations of $999/m.
.
This drove me nuts tbh.
.
But I can see (maybe a small glimpse of) what Sam & Hormozi are doing.
They are changing the game ... in more ways than one.
.
And one big way they are changing the game is by bringing more Transparency and Trust into the marketplace... Which let's face it has been a MASSIVE problem (at least in the business coaching space)
.
The limitations of the skool platform breed creativity, builds trust and removes all the fluff.
.
✅ There's likely a reason you only get 1000 words on the about page.
✅ There's likely a reason you only get $999/m for payment options
✅ There's likely a reason why the majority of feature requests get declined (still crossing fingers for that scheduled post feature but whatever if it never happens I trust the limitation is actually making the platform better... less is more... simple scales)
.
The reality is if I am going to build my business on Skool, then it makes sense to learn all the rules as best I can and play the game by the skool rules.
.
It's just like the game of money. Taxes are the rule book for how to make and keep your money you become wealthier when you learn to play the game.
.
So here are a few ways we changed our game with a high ticket offer to better align with the skool rules.
💎 We use a 2 Skool System
- 1 Free Community
- 1 Paid Community
💎 Our Paid Community has 2 Tiers or levels of support (High Ticket + Low Ticket)
- Content is the same in both tiers
- Community Support = Low Ticket
- 1:1 Coaching = High Ticket
💎 We changed our 1:1 offer and Pricing
- We extended the Time frame from 4 months to 6 months
- We created a better course to streamline implementation & Accountability
- We added more group coaching calls
- We reduced our scheduled 1:1 coaching by half and created Milestones to be met before booking a call.
- We kept the Pay in Full Price the Same - $10k
- We made our payment plan $999/bi-weekly ($12k for 6 months)
- Which gives clients more support but less of my 1:1 Time - more white space in calendar.
💎 We can now transition 100% of our subscription payments to skool
- We still take single $10k Payments through stripe
- We use our 2 Communities (Free & Paid) to Charge $999/m by switching the subscription button for a quick minute while enrolling 1:1 clients... then switch it back to Free and $299/m
💎 Some Final Thoughts....
- We are limiting our 1:1 Program to 25 Clients (25 x $1k/bi-weekly = $50k/m) (few spots left)
- This works out 25 Hours a month of scheduled 1:1 client delivery (6 hours a week)
- We will do waitlists, have applications and open up enrolment twice a year
- And while our 1:1 container is closed we invite people to join our paid community for $299/m allowing us to scale and build a community of paying clients whom a % of them will likely want to join our 1:1 when we open up enrolments.
- This 2-Tier-Offer-set-up allows us to make sales every day while also having a solid MRR foundation of 1:1 Coaching Clients. Stability + Scaleability 🙌🏼
- This business model blends the best of both world... High Ticket + Low Ticket in the same community, teaching the same content and charging more money for speed and ease.
- The business model has a a 50% profit margin (after paying myself) with a team of 4 (EA, Setter, Head Coach & myself) and spending 10% of MRR on Ad spend. (Will come back to this post in 6 months time with the update)
- This business model is so simple and feels so light.
- This business model is sustainable and scaleable ...
- Did you realize skools payment system is an ecosystem?
- Did you realize that if someone has their CC on file it's a 1 Click purchase to join ANY other community on this platform?
- Did you notice that the about pages look and feel like an amazon check out page?
Hopefully this is helpful to anyone selling high ticket and trying to find a solution to use skool... and maybe win the skool games ;)
