Pre-Sales

I've been working for almost a year on developing my course. I'm SO close to launching it, but had to put life on pause these last 3 weeks. I saw today that someone tried to purchase my course 2 weeks ago. This alone is motivation to cross that finish line. I have 2 more courses to push out after this. Instead of possibly losing out on clients during this production time, I just realized I can make a few modifications to the website and start accepting Pre-Sales for these courses. This will be more motivation for me, because I'm now accountable to an external driver, and it will allow me to make money in the interim. Has anyone else done this, and how did it work out for you? Also, what are your experiences with it as a customer that purchased a Pre-Sale?
