Welcome. We’re glad you’re here. This community is built on shared learning, lived experience, and respect for the plants and the planet. Introductions help us understand who’s gathered around the fire. My name is Lyrik, and I am the founder of LEAVES. A foundation focused on building community and saving our planet through herbal and sustainable practices. My interest begins with my passion for helping others heal crossing with my passion for innovative solutions. What better way to do this than with our own environment, right? :) I became an advanced herbalist through lots of independent reading, online/real time research, many cool experiments, and our friend YouTube University. Haha Right now, I’m working on making products with Burdock Root. I’m super excited to get to know more about you and your experiences. Share your story!

Herb of the Week Discussion
🌿 Herb of the Week: Turmeric This week, we’re spending time with turmeric (Curcuma longa), a golden rhizome that lives at the crossroads of food, tradition, and everyday herbal practice. Turmeric has been used for generations to support digestion, joint comfort, skin health, and overall balance. It’s also a powerful reminder that some of the most effective remedies are already part of daily life. Join the conversation below: In the comments, share what feels right for you: - How have you used turmeric before (food, tea, topical, or not at all)? - Are you more curious about internal use or external use? - Have you worked with fresh turmeric root, powdered turmeric, or both? 📸 Photos are welcome. A cup of tea, a root from the market, a jar of spice, or a preparation you’ve made. Gentle reminder This space is for learning and experience-sharing. We keep things educational and safety-first. Speak from personal experience and curiosity rather than giving instructions to others. If you’d like a structured overview, you’ll find the Turmeric mini lesson in the Classroom under Herb of the Week. Pull up a seat and share what you’re noticing. Turmeric works slowly, and so do we 🌱
