Salam everyone, there are a lot of new members in the community so I thought I'd post a guide on how to perfect your Arabic. This is good for all levels!
First thing to know about Arabic: it's NOT to be memorized, it's TO BE FELT.
And feeling comes from understanding the language so well that it becomes second nature.
How does one achieve that?
Arabic is *NOT* complicated, contrary to popular opinion. It's actually VERY SIMPLE.
Here's a quick step-by-step guide:
The Abjaddiyya is the only thing you need to memorize. It's a fixed set of 28 letters, obsess over them for a few days, how they sound and how they look.
These are only 3 sounds! Any of the 28 letters can be pronounced with these sounds: Ah, Oo, Ee. So a letter K can be pronounced something like: Ka, Ku, Ki. And tanween is just the same sounds with "n" at the end, so: An, On, En - and they just come at the end of nouns. Get these sounds down and move on, this should take you 1h, you can go over that to cement them but move on quick.
Once you're ready, you should be able to read: فَعَلَ?
You've read your first word! And you barely know anything about Arabic, that's the gift of Arabic and it will keep on giving as you move forward.
Find Part 2 of this post to get continue (might not be ready once you read this).
