Purging/ Deuteronomy
I’ve been spending a lot of time and reflection in Deuteronomy lately as we’ve been reading it Collectively as a church. And while any of my posts are always my interpretation of scripture.
It’s clear in the additional and lengthy instructions from the Lord to the Israelites his call to purity in the land. The lines are thorough and exhaustive, leaving nothing to question.
The theme and phrase I find over and over again is the Lord saying “You must purge the evil from among you”
It’s been my prayer lately to having a purging of my heart, any hidden sin and pride. To be purged aggressively, co labored with the spirit, in the same way the Israelites were called to deal with aggressively.
It’s interesting to see the personality of God displayed throughout this book.
God Bless you all!
