“But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.”
Numbers 14:24
God labels Caleb as having a “different” spirit. Set apart from the others that went into the Land of Canaan
When others were stuck on their viewpoint on the situation, think the task in front of them was insurmountable, wanting to return to Egypt in which God had delivered them from.
They saw that land was good, flowing with milk and honey. They had witnessed God perform miracles throughout their journey in the wilderness, and in Egypt yet still lacked faith in the moment that God would perform again.
Focus on the different spirit. 10 of the 12 spies believed it would be impossible. 2 believed God would move again. It even got to the point the crowd wanted to stone Caleb for his perspective and call on the situation, others believe the men were powerful and the cities were fortified. Caleb thought otherwise. While some wished they were still in their old life in Egypt or died in the wilderness. Caleb stood in the gap and followed wholeheartedly.
Lord show us how to live with a different spirit like Caleb. To be label as an outsider of this world. To give an answer for the reason of hope that you have. 1st Peter 3:15
