*UPDATED* Help! I need a name for this:
This Mezcal based manhattan style cocktail is my new go to and I’m obsessed, I created this back in February but it’s been crazy around here finally getting to sharing it!
1.5 oz Los Vecinos in Mezcal (Bahnez works great - lightly smoky)
1 oz Sweet Vermouth
.5 oz Cascadia Liquor American Bitter Liqueur
.25 Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
.25 Licor 43 (yes, I tweaked it since taking the picture)
• Stir with ice, strain into coupe.
• Brandied/Bordeaux/or Amerena cherry garnish (sunk at bottom is best as it does enhance flavor)
• *Express and discard lemon zest (also crucial, not sure how I forgot to mention it).
I’m blanking on the similar amaro to the Cascadia so I’ll add that in when I remember since it’s a local brand to me and I don’t think it’s available too far out of the PNW. ***Update: Amaro Nonino functions as a solid replacement. It’s not as good as Cascadia in it but it’s still delicious and will give you the same flavor vibes!***
Anyway, this drink is friggin delicious, please drink it. And help me with a name! I was thinking I’ll just call it a “Portland” cuz it’s weird and eclectic and a city name like the Manhattan. Thoughts?
