🇺🇸 250 Years Ago, America Declared More Than Independence—It Declared Sovereignty.
Two hundred fifty years ago, our Founders did not merely separate from a king. They declared a revolutionary principle that changed the course of history: Government exists to serve the people—not the people to serve government. The Declaration of Independence proclaims that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, and that governments derive “their just powers from the consent of the governed.” That single sentence forever changed the relationship between the people and government. It established that sovereignty belongs to the people. Thomas Jefferson understood that liberty would always be threatened if government accumulated power beyond its proper limits. Throughout his letters, he repeatedly warned that every branch of government must remain accountable to the Constitution and to the people. He famously wrote: “The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground.” Those words remain just as relevant today as they were over two centuries ago. After independence was declared, the states began drafting their own constitutions. Among the most influential was the Massachusetts Constitution of 1780, principally drafted by John Adams. It is the oldest functioning written constitution in the world and became a significant model for the United States Constitution adopted seven years later. Why is that important? Because the Massachusetts Constitution did not merely create a government—it explained why government exists. Its Declaration of Rights begins by recognizing that: “All men are born free and equal, and have certain natural, essential, and unalienable rights.” Those were not new rights granted by government. They were rights the people already possessed by nature. The Constitution’s purpose was to secure those rights—not create them. Today, I believe many of the principles the Founders fought to secure have been eroded, and that government has grown beyond the constitutional limits they envisioned.

Welcome to the Community
Peace and welcome, everyone. First, thank you for being here and for choosing to learn, grow, and build with us. This space was created for people who are serious about gaining understanding, sharpening comprehension, and learning how to apply the laws of life. This is a community-based environment, which means we all play a part in making it valuable. The stronger the collective, the stronger each individual becomes. Strength in numbers is a major key to success, but only when we move with order, respect, and purpose. To keep the community organized, please make sure your posts go in the most relevant discussion category. For example, if your post is about custody, child support, foreclosure/eviction, debt collectors, wins and testimonies, resources, questions, or any other specific subject matter, please place it under that topic so members can easily find it, follow it, and learn from it. If your post does not clearly fit into a specific category, place it in General Discussion. Also, if you believe we should add another subject-matter discussion or category, please post your recommendation in General Discussion so we can review it as a community. The goal is to keep improving the structure as we grow. A few recommendations for everyone: When asking a question, give enough context so others can understand what you are asking. When sharing information, explain the meaning, not just the quote or source. When giving your thoughts, stay respectful and constructive. When discussing law, history, scripture, procedure, life situations, or personal experiences, focus on comprehension and proper application. This is a positive learning environment. We are here to build, not tear down. No negativity, no confusion, and no disorder. We want this space to be useful for everyone involved, from beginners to those already studying and applying these principles. Again, welcome. Thank you for being here. Let’s learn together, grow together, and contribute together. Iron sharpens iron.
