Watercolour Paint Along is happening in 9 hours
Welcome to Julie Ford's Calm Art Space
When I started my painting journey there was just so much to choose from and I wasted a lot of money. In this community, you can ask questions, share feedback and find out the best way to get started and progress. I can help with watercolour, oils, acrylics and soft pastels. I am an Associate Artist for Unison Colour in the UK. My aim is to help you steer your way ato discover your favourite mediums and enjoy the process. The best way to learn is to play. You’re welcome to paint along, watch quietly, share your work, or simply enjoy being part of a supportive art space. There is no pressure to keep up, post regularly, or be “good enough”. This space is about slowing down, enjoying colour, and finding confidence through the process — not perfection.
Hi I’m new here…
and like to introduce myself 😉 My name is Chantal Hulsman. Since 2019, I've been enjoying life on the Costa Blanca in Spain! I've had a passion for drawing since high school. After taking a break for several years, I’ve recently rekindled my passion for art, focusing on acrylic painting 🎨 and charcoal & pastel drawing ✍🏼 My goal is to improve my skills and eventually sell my art on and off line 😉 Follow my art on Instagram or my website: www.chantalsartgallery.com

Painting Holiday
If you love painting, there is nothing quite so absorbing and good for the soul than spending a week totally focused on it in like minded company. I returned last Wednesday from Olhao in Portugal where I hosted a week long painting holiday for Friendship Travel. Olhao is a beautiful, moorish fishing harbour, typically 'old Portugal' with cobbled streets, fabulous doors and super food. We spent the week going over some fundamentals, experimenting with techniques, colour and value, sightseeing and sketching plein air. Many of the group were complete beginners and threw themselves in to the week and produced some great work. Oh and we laughed till we cried...the best medicine of all in this stressful world. My next week is in Turkey in October where I haven't been before but it looks beautiful. We even have a day doing pottery included. Have you ever fancied the idea of sketching outside or do you already? Let me know in the comments.
