This is a long time coming, and there's still a lot of work to be done. That being said, I'm thankful for all of you who are joining as the very first members, and I think it's only right that I let you know exactly why this page exists, so here it goes...
After being in the world of entrepreneurship and marketing for over six years, I found out a few things:
1: More than 130,000 new businesses in the United States are started every day
2: Roughly 1 out of 5 of those businesses will fail within the first year, and half of them will fail within the first 5 years.
3: Despite those numbers, the fact is that small, family-owned businesses were the norm for hundreds of years before large corporations became what people relied on to make ends meet.
4: These large businesses are letting us down. It's harder for people to enter the corporate workforce than ever before, pensions no longer exist and were replaced with 401 (k) plans that we can barely retire off of, social security is an uncertainty, and even if you're blessed to find gainful employment, job satisfaction is at an all-time low (a 66% decline since 2022 according to Pew Research center).
Also, the rate of inflation continues to outpace wage increases.
There's only one answer to fixing these issues in our personal lives, and that's through entrepreneurship.
My objective with this community (as well as the courses that will be posted on it) is to provide the materials that increase the likelihood of success for business owners.
Trade schools and college institutions are mainstream for conventional employment, but why isn't there anything as reputable or as popular for starting a business?
Together we can change that. - Javon
