This community is where I share my art, painting kits, art lessons and creative ideas inspired by gemstones, birthstones, flowers, colour and light. I’m Katie Jarman, a professional artist and qualified teacher with 20 years of teaching experience. (Yep, I’m feeling old!) I’ve always been drawn to little treasures from nature. As a child I loved collecting shells, stones and pretty things that caught the light. I think that feeling has stayed with me. That tiny moment of noticing something beautiful. A shell on the beach. A stone with a sparkle in it. A flower opening in the garden. A colour that makes you stop for a second. That is the feeling I try to bring into my paintings. My artwork is full of colour, nature, gemstones, flowers, shimmer and light. I love helping people feel more confident with art, especially if they haven’t painted for years or feel a bit unsure where to start.
