The "too many resources" placebo effect
Learning Hiragana was easy enough by practicing writing by hand and some small applications but when it gets to the rest I feel I didn't learned much in the last... +10 years. I think that is because I tried to use all the shiny multiple resources available. They gave me a feeling of accomplishment while not really delivering it. Here are some of the ones I used:
  • Duolingo
  • Wanikani
  • Human Japanese
  • Todaii Japanese
  • Renshuu
  • Japanese Kanji Study
  • Learn Japanese to survive! (hiragan, Katakana, Kanji)
  • (Tried to play multiple games in japanese and got bored...)
So in the end I still can't use my Japanese knowledge for the most basic things. Did you felt like you got into the same issue as me? Or did you found some resources that were truly useful and helped you achieve your goals?
Thanks!
