Superman Entry time duration

As I have played with Jedi and Superman entries it seems like the window of keeping a position open in a Superman trade should be relatively short. Is there a rule of thumb that if like it does not open after a certain period of time that it’s probably best to close that position. As they start to feel more like a Jedi entry at that point?
