Horizontal Hive
Jorge, Would love to know your thoughts on this type of hive. I was watching YouTube and saw it.
Horizontal Hive
Lab testing
Just watched your YouTube. I am even more excited to learn this way of beekeeping! You had mentioned sending your honey and the store bought ones on the video to a lab. I just wanted to share this as an option. I plan on sending mine in but just haven’t quite gotten to it yet. They trained at Texas A&M and started this company. https://pearl-research.com/honey-analysis/
What do we do?
Hi Jorge. Can you please explain a little bit about this mentorship program? How are we going to learn? I am assuming that it is too late in the season to start a new hive. So, what do we do until spring?

World Honey Bee Day
My one and only…
Hello…. I am a first year beekeeper and have started out with a three deep HiveIQ. We have 35 acres in North West Texas (Palo Pinto county). I am looking forward to learning about this input free way. Currently, I am nearing the end of my Apiguard treatment and have been feeding a 1:1 sugar solution during said treatment. Total transparency, I am currently in a year long mentorship with this hive. My goal is to start a second hive in this input free method to either switch over completely if it works in my area (I am highly concerned about Africanized bee mating) or do some sort of hybrid thing whereas getting rid of plastic foundation and feeding. The brood breaks sounds interesting…but the queen mating might become an issue because of my area. We have had three, maybe four, Afracanized attacks this year just one county over from us. There were fatalities and that scares me. I am told if you control the Queen, you control the genetics and it won’t be an issue. Anyway, I am rambling. Bottom line is that I want to learn as much as I can to make an educated decision on what works best for me and my bee yard. I’m all in!
