Cmmunity
Hey HuRU Crew! I have a question. I really enjoy connecting and interacting with other people. I’ve been that way all my life. I’ve enjoyed this group so far because it seems like people do engage and interact. But I will admit that I’ve been in a couple groups where I bring that energy to the group, and there’s nothing going on no interaction just crickets, And because I’m expecting more, it’s a bit of an energy drain. I would love everyone suggestions of a couple groups I could join that really do promote community and interaction like this one does. It’s partly about networking for sure, but also maybe about being a solopreneur, working from home, and just enjoying a little interaction with other human beings!! (Hope this is ok to post!!)

Your Mission Is the Magnet 🎯
Communities don’t thrive because they have a clever name, a fancy logo, or even the best tech platform. They thrive because of one thing: a mission worth rallying around. People don’t join groups just to hang out. They join because they want to be part of something bigger than themselves. A mission gives meaning to their participation. It transforms casual members into passionate contributors. Here’s the key: Your mission statement doesn’t need to be long or complicated. In fact, the best ones are short, clear, and easy to repeat. They answer three questions in plain language: 1. Who is this community for? 2. What do we stand for? 3. Where are we going together? For example: 👉 “We help solopreneurs turn knowledge into income through community-driven learning.” 👉 “A group of creatives supporting each other to build businesses that feel as good as they look.” 👉 “We’re here to challenge limiting beliefs and create lives that truly go beyond them.” Notice how each statement has direction. They don’t just describe what the group is, they describe what the group does. That’s the difference between a static community and a movement. So if you are building a community, here’s the challenge for you: Take a few minutes today to draft a mission statement for your own community (even if it’s just for yourself right now). Keep it under 2 sentences. Make it clear, bold, and inspiring. Then ask yourself: Would I want to join this? 💬 Drop your draft below 👇 I’d love to see what you come up with.

🌱 Networking vs. Connecting 🌱
Ivan Misner said it best: “Networking is more about farming than it is about hunting. It’s about cultivating relationships.” And Dr. Misner knows a thing or two about this topic. Being the Founder of BNI - Business Network International, he is not doubt an authority on the matter. Too often, people treat networking like a numbers game - shaking hands, swapping cards, chasing transactions. But that’s a short-term mindset. Real growth comes from planting seeds, nurturing them, and letting relationships deepen before you try to expand. Go deep first, go wide later. 🔸Depth creates trust. 🔹Trust fuels opportunities. 🔸And opportunities multiply into volume. That’s why I prefer the term Connecting over Networking. 💫 The word itself carries a different energy - less transactional, more transformational. When you connect, you’re not trying to “get” something. You’re trying to build something. 👉 How about you? Do you approach new conversations as a connection... or a transaction?
