The foundation of the Medicine Wheel is made up of four directions: North(Ki'wedinong), East(Wa'banong), South(Sha'wanong), and West(Niga'bianong). 4 is a significant number that occurs in Mother Nature: 4 main seasons: Spring(Si'gwan), Summer(ni'bin), Fall(Pi'dji bi'pon), and Winter(Pibo'n). 4 main times of the day: Dawn, Noon, and Dusk, Midnight. 4 main aspects of life: Child, Adolescent, Adult, Elder. Each direction has its specific colour: North(Ki'wedinong) is White(Wa'ba). White(Wa'ba) is the colour of intensity, decisiveness and acuity. East(Wa'banong) is Yellow(Oza'wa).
