The Seven Deadly Sins
What are the seven deadly sins and why do matter?
The seven deadly sins—pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth—are a classification of vices in Roman Catholic theology used to educate on immoral behaviors that fuel others. Enumerated by Pope Gregory I and refined by Thomas Aquinas, these "capital sins" represent core transgressions that separate individuals from God, rather than specific actions, serving as the roots of other immoral behavior
Here is an explanation of each of the seven deadly sins:
• Pride (Superbia): Often considered the original and most serious sin, pride is an excessive love of self, narcissism, or arrogance. It involves a refusal to submit to God or recognize one's own limitations, often leading to a sense of superiority over others.
• Greed (Avarice): An intense, disordered desire for material wealth, possessions, or power. It is characterized by an insatiable hunger to acquire more than one needs and an unwillingness to share.
• Lust (Luxuria): Intense, unbridled desire, most commonly sexual desire, that treats others as objects for personal pleasure rather than individuals to be respected.
• Envy (Invidia): Sadness or resentment at the sight of another’s good fortune or possessions. It is not just wanting what others have, but often wishing they did not have it.
• Gluttony (Gula): Overconsumption or overindulgence, usually focused on food, drink, or intoxicating substances. It is the selfish wasting of resources and the misuse of consumption.
• Wrath (Ira): Uncontrollable anger, rage, or a desire for vengeance. It is the intense emotional desire to harm or dominate others.
• Sloth (Acedia): More than just physical laziness, it is spiritual apathy or boredom, representing a refusal to utilize one’s talents or fulfill duties toward God and others.
It’s time to look in the mirror, clean, breathe and elevate. There are dark forces against you that will dissolve the second you step into your power!
Let’s go! 🙏❤️
