Insurance Denied the Surgery… Until I Fought Back
Insurance companies deny procedures all the time—but what most people don’t realize is that those denials can be challenged. I once worked with an elderly patient whose surgery was denied because the insurance company said it wasn’t medically necessary. Instead of accepting that, I gathered all her medical records—physical therapy notes, EMG results, X-rays, and MRI reports. I worked with her surgeon to document that she had already tried multiple treatments that didn’t work. Result I submitted the appeal, spoke directly with the medical review team—and got her surgery approved. If you’ve ever felt like the system is working against you, it doesn’t have to be that way.
