In the spirit of Christmas ✨ Loving yourself is not a goal you achieve - it’s a daily commitment.
It’s not something you “arrive at” one day and tick off the list (although, that's what I thought for so long and I wish it was like that! Would be a lot easier in some ways :D). It's something you practice - again and again - in ordinary moments.
Self-love lives in the choices you make when no one is watching: how you speak to yourself, how you rest, how you set boundaries, how you forgive your humanity, how you stay with yourself on the hard days, how you show up for yourself when it's hard.
From a scientific perspective, self-love is regulation. Each kind thought, each gentle pause, each moment of self-compassion tells your nervous system: I am safe with myself, I can trust myself. And safety is what allows healing, clarity, and growth to happen.
From a spiritual perspective, loving yourself is devotion. A promise to meet yourself where you are, not where you think you should be. A choice to remain connected to your own heart - even when it’s uncomfortable.
Some days, loving yourself looks soft. Some days it looks like discipline. Some days it looks like rest. Some days it looks like the truth.
But every day, it’s a choice.
Not perfection. Not constant confidence. Just commitment.
And the more consistently you choose yourself, the more natural love becomes —not as a destination, but as the way you live. 🌿💛
