Writing a great song for opening your live show

During my live shows I always love opening the show with “Brand New Man” by Brooks and Dunn Ft. Luke Combs. I want to write an original song that has the same feeling this song gives live but how would you approach writing this song without ripping off the song that inspired you to write it?
