Lesson 1:
Three areas to tighten up:
- Maintaining a consistent practice schedule across both my primary instrument and additional skills I’m working on.
2. Giving my 100% all in attention and effort to situations were half effort would still outperform for the situation (IE full pro consistently event when it might not make a visible difference in that particular situation)
3. Commit to dialing in tones, sounds, pedals, and gear for local shows.
Lesson 2:
What “Ready” Looks like:
- Great sounding, well maintained, reliable gear (Extras on hand for repair/replacement).
- Be able to execute the music at a high level prior to first rehearsal.
- Understanding of nature of the assignment, logistics, travel, lodging, call times, and personnel.
- Understand hierarchy of leadership and event coordination.
- Identify appropriate ways to add additional value and when it may be appropriate to action.
