This is your sign to quit social media for 7 days
I havenโ€™t scrolled on TikTok, YouTube shorts, Instagram, or anything like that for 8 months. I donโ€™t watch TV shows, I donโ€™t watch movies (except for school), and I donโ€™t even watch YouTube videos (only my own). The most โ€œentertainingโ€ thing I do is listen to audiobooks.
Most people have never even gone a single day without scrolling. Smokers can go weeks without smoking. But many people canโ€™t go 24 hours without opening up social media. That shows how strong this addiction is.
I tried to quit for years and failed. I tried dopamine detox, app blockers, even texting a friend every single day. Nothing worked. I always went back to scrolling.
What finally worked for me was on January 16, 2025. That was the day I said: enough is enough. Since then, I havenโ€™t scrolled once (think about that, itโ€™s actually crazy)
Hereโ€™s the thing:
you donโ€™t have to start by quitting forever. (even though the post suggests that)
Thatโ€™s too hard. You just need to prove to yourself that you can do it for 7 days.
So hereโ€™s my challenge to you:
  • For the next 7 days, cut only one thing: short form content.
  • You can still watch a long YouTube video, or a movie if you want.
  • But no TikTok, no shorts, no reels.
Thatโ€™s it. 7 days. No short form content.
After those 7 days, youโ€™ll feel the difference, trust me. This is exactly what all my students and clients have done, all with very very good results.
